Byron Glacier road will be closed this fall for reconstruction. The project will widen the roadway and include paved shoulder with bike land markings and add a new parking area across from the interpretive sign. The existing Byron Glacier Trailhead will be widened slightly and the gravel area near the gate will be paved.
The road may close as early as this Friday, September 30. Access will be provided for those working further up the road.
